While the album doesn't have the musical punch or the songwriting strengths of \u003cem\u003eZiggy\u003c\/em\u003e, its gems make it more than worthwhile.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lush strings and dominant wah-wah guitar of \"\u003cem\u003e1984\u003c\/em\u003e\" seem like a nod to \u003cstrong\u003eIsaac Hayes\u003c\/strong\u003e, while \u003cstrong\u003eBowie's\u003c\/strong\u003e howls and snarling sax on the title track make it instantly memorable.
