10 Year Anniversary
After the cruelly overlooked lo-fi pop that was 'life blood' and the mix-match rock of 'know your enemy', the manics return with their eighth album with dave eringa at the production helm. it's a return to what the manics do best, and that's big anthemic rock, and my how they've been missed. 'your love alone is not enough', 'indian summer', 'autumn song' and 'the second great depression' are the big rock anthems in the vein of 'a design for life' and 'motorcycle emptiness'. the strings are back, and the bradfield guitar solos, and the grand sing-a-long choruses. these tracks really capture the grandiose days of the manics when they were the darlings of the british music scene.
